Phase in Contact
Phase in Contact
Phasing in contact refers to a gradual and structured introduction or reintroduction of contact between a child and a parent or caregiver. This process is commonly used when a child has been separated from a parent for a significant time; the child is unfamiliar or uncomfortable with one parent (e.g., due to limited prior contact or conflict); there are concerns about the child’s emotional readiness; or the relationship between the child and parent/carer needs to be rebuilt in a safe, supportive way.
At Anew Mediation, we assist families with phasing in contact to ensure that parent–child relationships are restored in a safe, supportive way.
